What is #GivingTuesday?

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. Together, with a team of influencers and founding partners, we launched a global movement that has engaged over 30,000 organizations worldwide.

 

Our company is looking to help Non-Profits build a GREAT #GivingTuesday Campaign.

Beyond Dreams will assist Non-Profits with organizing a day of service for December 1, 2015 to take place on site and also will run an online campaign to help raise money and awareness.

Filet Mignon With Roquefort and Red Leaf

salad provides a rich flavor with the deliciously pungent cheese and filet mignon. You’ll also get iron, protein, and plenty of veggies in each bite.

Ingredients: Yukon Gold potatoes, olive oil, thyme, rosemary, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, shallot, honey, sugar, canola oil, sea salt, black pepper, yellow onion, filet mignon steaks, red leaf lettuce, tomatoes, Roquefort blue cheese

Ingredients

• 2 large Yukon Gold potatoes, diced
• 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
• 4 thyme sprigs
• 2 rosemary sprigs, roughly chopped
• 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
• 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic
• 1 teaspoon sliced shallot
• 1 teaspoon honey
• 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon canola oil, divided
• 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, divided
• 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided
• 1 large yellow onion, chopped
• 4 (6-ounce) prime filet mignon steaks
• 2 heads red leaf lettuce, leaves separated
• 2 large tomatoes, quartered and sliced
• 1/4 pound Roquefort blue cheese, crumbled

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375° and grill to high.
2. Toss first 4 ingredients (through rosemary sprigs); place on a baking sheet. Roast the potatoes for 25 minutes or until golden; set aside.
3. Combine vinegar and next 6 ingredients (through sugar) in a blender. Add 1/2 cup oil in a thin stream; blend. Add 1/8 teaspoon each salt and pepper; set aside.
4. While potatoes roast, heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onion 10-12 minutes or until caramelized; set aside.
5. Season steaks with remaining salt and pepper. Reduce grill to medium-high; cook steaks for about 7 minutes per side or until desired degree of doneness. Remove from grill; let rest 3 minutes before slicing into 1-inch cubes.
6. Toss lettuce with tomato and blue cheese; add the potatoes and onion. Drizzle with dressing; toss. Top with steak; serve.

Plastic Surgeon Who Operated On Kanye West's Mother Says His Cousin Should Be Blamed For Her Death

 

After about eight years of taking the blame for Donda West's death, the doctor who was behind her intense plastic surgery operation is hoping Kanye West will tell the truth about the entire incident.
Dr. Jan Adams is now claiming 'Ye's cousin is to blame for his mother's passing.

According to the doctor, he says Stephan Scoggins — a registered nurse with a Ph.D in public health — should own up to his mistakes because he took care of Donda after her surgery instead of taking Yeezy's mother to a private recovery center.
The California plastic surgeon says in a recent tell-all interview:

"It baffles me when nobody wants to know the truth. I think (Kanye) should stand up and tell the truth, and the truth will set you free. I think the truth needs to be out there. If he had any b—s or if he was any kind of man he could (speak up). But the real answer is he probably won't.
Most people that I run into think she died on the table, they don't even know this lady was home for a day. The truth hasn't been revealed."

Adams went on to reveal Stephan never followed through to install patient monitors in Donda's bedroom after her intensive surgery and he left her under the care of untrained friends.
Dr. Adams also claims that when the registered nurse left Donda in the care of his pals, he went to a baby shower and ignored phone calls about her care.
The doctor said in addition to all of that, Donda took as many as 20 Vicodins in less than 24 hours, causing her to vomit and then choke because she was playing flat on her back.
He said:

"She aspirated the food contents into her lungs and that's that. And four minutes later you're dead. Jimi Hendrix, that's how he died. It ain't magical."

According to the corner's report, Dr. Adams was not named to be at fault for her death…
But that still didn't stop people from placing blame, since he was the one to operate on her.
The doctor intends on fighting this until the truth comes out.
Kanye nor his reps have commented on this situation.

Kim Kardashian Slams Wendy Williams for Accusing Her of Hiring a Surrogate to Carry South West

As soon as socialite Kim Kardashian announced her pregnancy over the weekend the doubters came out of the woodwork.

Many say Kim probably hired the same surrogate who carried Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy.

Kim went IN on Friend of the Blog Wendy Williams, who accused Kim of hiring a surrogate.

But according to a well-connected source, Beyonce’s surrogate is not currently for rent. Word has it that the surrogate’s uterus is booked through the end of next year. Apparently the unnamed surrogate’s uterus is in high demand.

Besides that, Kim has already delivered a baby and there is proof that she had a live birth.

Kim threatened to put doubters like Wendy on blast in real time on her new website, where she will stream her thoughts and ideas to Fans who are willing to pay $9.99 to listen.

Girls Incorporated of Jacksonville (formerly Girls Clubs of America) began as a project of the Pilot Club of Jacksonville. It was incorporated in 1970 and became affiliated with the Girls Clubs of America in 1971. Our first club was located in the Brentwood Housing Development, where we continually maintained a presence until 2004, when the Hope VI Project interrupted our work.  In 1990, Girls Clubs of America changed their name to Girls Incorporated on national and local levels.
During the school year Girls Inc. holds a literacy based after-school program entitled GirlSMART.  The GirlSMART Literacy program is currently in six Duval County schools and we anticipate growth over the next few years. GirlSMART works with kindergarten through third grade girls specifically.
Girls have the right to accept and appreciate their bodies, and are entitled to thrive in communities that invest in their total physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Girls need access to information, resources, and skills to be effective partners in promoting their own healthy development. To help ensure that girls have the support that they need to take charge of their own health, Girls Inc. has launched Girls Inc. Mind+Body℠, which focuses on four pillars that, according to research, play a major role in fortifying girls’ ability to develop and sustain strong minds and strong bodies. They are: nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and body image.
Today, Girls Incorporated of Jacksonville serves more than 1,700 girls everyday in literacy after-school programs, outreach and summer camps.  Our after-school programs provide a supporting, safe environment, offer homework assistance, and enrichment activities like dance, computer, art, story telling, theater, and bullying prevention.

Day26 Reunites....

It must be a serious adjustment going from being a hot up and coming R&B group to to a group of guys who used to be a hot up and coming R&B group. It seems like the guys who comprised the group of Day26 couldn’t take being away from the spotlight so they are reuniting without Diddy‘s tutelage.

 

According to reports, Day26 will be reuniting to embark on a thirty-city tour that features all of the original members of group. Yes, that includes Brian, Willie, Robert, Big Mike, and Que. Many remember Que being kicked out of the group during the final season of “Making the Band 4″ due to disagreements with the group, label, and management.

Day26 carried on after Que’s departure in 2009, but they completely disbanded in 2012. Rumors of the original group reuniting have been swirling ever since. The group wanted to reunite but wouldn’t if Que chose not to participate. When Que signed on, everything was set in motion for a comeback.

Despite being handpicked by Diddy to make the group in 2007, Diddy will not be apart of this reunion. However, before the guys made the announcement about their reunion, they sought out the blessing of Diddy which he gave.
